About Evelyn Gibson

Evelyn Gibson is a South African based photographer with over 20 years of experience. She has a passion for a wide range of photographic genres, and, having travelled widely both internationally and around Southern Africa, she has collected a range of images, only samples of which are shown in this web site.

She currently serves on the Board of PSSA as Director of Public Relations and is also a member of its National Honours Judging Panel.

Being heavily involved in Club Photography, she regularly judges at different clubs around the country or assists through remote judging. She also instigated and started a new Club in her local area some years ago.

Her approach to photography comes from a photographer once saying to her that the light is the river on which technique sinks or floats. Emotion, spirit, conveying mood, atmosphere and meaning needs to be there when the image is captured. One must feel they could walk into the image and feel part of it.
